With time, Semi-permanent and permanent pigments each fade differently. Combined with the specific clients undertone, sometimes that leftover pigment can leave behind a reddish, pinkish, or bluish hue. But, not to worry! A simple color correction can easily adjust this in most cases. Color corrections do take two separate appointments scheduled four weeks apart. In some cases, a third appointment may be necessary. Get your color back to natural looking, no problem!
*Consultations are recommended prior to scheduling, please call or text for more info
At Skin Fanatics, we understand the frustration of having uneven eyebrows due to your previous permanent makeup artist, or maybe your face just aged a little more on one side? Not to worry!
We offer free consultations to give you a customized plan to create the balance you're missing. Erin will analyze the factors involved and suggest slight changes that can make a huge difference in the appearance of your eyebrows. She may recommend going a shade darker or a size up to achieve this. But she will always prioritize your preferences. However, if you are opposed to thicker or darker eyebrows, permanent makeup shape correction may not be the best solution. In such cases, removal may be required, which can be a tricky process. Unfortunately, we do not offer removal services, but can let you know what type of removal will work for your skin type. About half the time, with a couple of tiny adjustments, a clients eyebrows can be twins or even sisters; instead of distant cousins...!
No matter what type you get, cosmetic tattoos will fade just like regular tattoos. However, it can require less maintenance if youre cateful. So the million dollar question is& how long until you will need a touchup on your permament makeup?? To avoid premature fading, please consider the following factors:
1. Medications: Such as high blood pressure medication for instance, which can cause it to fade prematurely in some cases.
2. SUN. This is the #1 culprit of faded permanent or semi-permanent makeup. When youre all healed-up; SPF-up! Lips too!!
3. Face products: ingredients like Retin-A or any other vitamin A derivative based serum or moisturizer. Retinol and others cause rapid skin cell turnover. Not so great for your permanent makeup. Avoid putting it directly on that area. But remember, it still migrates thru the skin; so just keep that in mind.
4. Skin treatments: Chemical peels- you'll want to avoid direct contact. It can cause fading. Lasers- stay off the area completely; it WILL remove it! Microdermabrasion, facial treatments, or fruit enzymes are totally fine.
